Summer is here! Time to enjoy longer brighter days, so why not step out and about and see what’s on near you. Here at Go See This we love nothing more than spending our days off strolling through a local market sampling the tasty handmade treats and perusing the beautifully crafted objects and maybe picking up a vintage bargain along the way.
From Macclesfield and Urmston to Sandbach and beyond, we have perused a host of local markets to bring you our selection of this summer’s most exciting markets offering top notch art, stylish crafts and tempting treats to suit every taste.
This market gives you a chance to meet unique creatives, producers, musicians and bakers. The Makers Market offers the perfect place to discover quirky design lead homewares, jewellery and the finest food and drink in the heart of a host of town centres across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and beyond. We love CJ Taylord Art, a Manchester based artist creating unique Splatter Art. Two of the Makers Markets not to miss are the Northern Quarter on the second Saturday of each month and Sandbach every second Sunday of the month.

Every Saturday until December on the Levenshulme train station car park, go along and join locals and visitors, families and friends. Be entertained by live music from up-and-coming local musicians and see a brilliant line up of stalls offering artisan gifts and global street food. What sets Levy Market apart from others is the overwhelming feel of togetherness and local spirit you can experience here. Look out for Mollie Brown’s handmade clothing and accessories and The Chorlton Potter’s beautiful ceramics.

The Treacle Market in the heart of Macclesfield is a chance to discover a spectacular vintage find to adorn your home and fanatastic food from local producers. Once a month Treacle becomes the social heart of the town. Set against the backdrop of the old church on the cobblestones, Treacle has something to entice everyone. This market is a special treat for families; see the balloon man, try out the pavement chalks and pet the donkey.
The first Saturday of every month on Railway Road, Urmston Market is a highlight in the town’s calendar. You will find upto 100 of the finest artisan market traders at the Market Place. The perfect market to access if you are on public transport with the train station and bus routes a couple of minutes walk away. Try Rainy City Bakery’s delicious Manchester made marshmallows and hot Turkish Street Food.
If you take photos during any trips out to your local markets, remember to send them across to our Facebook page along with your favourite memories of the day.
