We’re fast approaching the most loved up day of the year. Shop windows are filled with love hearts, our television screens are bursting with romantic adverts and couples all over the country are busy writing poetic verses. If you haven’t yet found the perfect gift for that special someone in your life, then look no further! There’s no need for a mad dash around the shops whilst you frantically book a last minute table in a posh restaurant, just grab yourself a couple of tickets to one of the cinematic delights we’ve listed below.
Catch 10 Things I Hate About You & Beauty and the Beast at Victoria Baths this weekend. The Village Green Events Co will be decking out the vintage swimming pool with their pop up screen, a local DJ, pizza, prosecco and whole heap of ice cream.
There’s two to choose from at HOME on 14 February. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway star in Bonnie & Clyde at 6.10pm and you can enjoy the radical 80’s film Querelle at 8.35pm. Don’t forget that you can enjoy the John Hyatt: Rock Art exhibition in the gallery whilst you wait for the film to start!
Dirty Dancing is an iconic romantic film and we’d be daft not to include it in our line-up. You can find Baby and Johnny at Old Granada Studios on 10 & 11 February alongside some delicious cocktails and tasty street food.
“Did my heart love till now?”. Shakespeare is the King of Romance and Romeo and Juliet is perhaps his most famous love story. Baz Luhrmann’s renowned take on this Elizabethan text will be screened on Valentine’s Day at Gorilla in a double bill with 80’s classic Heathers. They promise the best cocktails, food and retro romantic vibes.
Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart star in Sabrina at Stockport Plaza on 14 February. Stockport’s big screen will be brought to life with 1950’s glamour at 11am and 7.30pm. Indulge yourself with a champagne ticket, matinee tea or pre-show dining option!
If you do end up booking tickets to any of the above, and we’re certain that you will, we would love to hear your thoughts and receive your reviews. You can tweet us, post on Facebook or send us over an email to email@example.com.
